Erika Thurman, LMT, CPT, CES

Erika is certified in personal training and corrective exercise through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (2012) and a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. She is a licensed massage therapist that specialized in medical massage for several years after graduating in 2007 from Illinois Central College. Erika also participates in teaching group fitness classes focusing on functional training, core strengthening and stabilization.

"After being a massage therapist for a few years, I decided to further my knowledge and education in personal training and corrective exercise. I started to realize that a lot of my clients were suffering from more than just sore, achey muscles. They had chronic pain. Pain from muscle imbalances, weakness and dysfunction. Being an active person myself, with my share of injuries, it became very apparent through my training, that a lot of my very own dysfunction and pain, just like my clients, could have been avoided or reversed by utilizing proper body mechanics and strengthening. My goal is to alleviate pain and discomfort all the while keeping you fit and healthy"

Muscle testing, body posture, and gait assessment are part of the initial consultation. These assessments help determine the exercise care plan that's best for each individual.
